Ohjaaja Maya Deren lukeutuu amerikkalaisen kokeellisen elokuvan luojiin ja avantgarden puolestapuhujiin. Kokoelmassa esitetään Derenin lyhytelokuvat Meshes of the Afternoon, At Land, Ritual in Transfigured Time ja The Very Eye of the Night. Elokuvissa Derenin mystinen tyyli yhdistyy usein psykologisiin teemoihin ja notkeisiin tanssiaskeliin.

Derens mystiska stil ofta blandas med psykologiska teman och smidiga danssteg.
Director Maya Deren is a creator of experimental cinema and a spokesperson for avantgarde. In this screening there will be show the following Deren’s short films: Meshes of the Afternoon, At Land, Ritual in Transfigured Time and The Very Eye of the Night. In the films Deren’s mystical style is often combined with psycholgoical themes and supple dance moves.
